| Two hundred years after Cain slew Abel, Adam had another son, called Seth. More humans were born, including Enoch, whose death the Bible does not recount, Lamech, and many others, whose names can be found in the Bible. The poet then mentions, among others, Noah’s flood, Moses receiving the holy laws, Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebecca, Joseph’s enslavement in Egypt, Samson and Deliah, as well as Solomon. The section concludes with a prayer to the Lord for redemption, and a warning to get shrived. This and the previous passage often refer to God anachronistically as “Christ” |
