| The carnival takes its name from Rio de Janeiro, one of the largest cities in Brazil. This is the city famous for its Samba, beaches, beautiful girls and the famous 38-foot giant statue of Jesus at the top of Mount Corcovado. It is the second largest city in Brazil after Sao Paolo and has a population of about 6 million people. |
