Tekirdağ, Bizans döneminde Bisanthe (Βισανθη) ve sonraları Rodosto (Ρωδοστο) adıyla anılmış. Kenti ele geçiren Türkler, şehre önceleri Rodosçuk, 18. yüzyıldan itibaren de Tekfur Dağı demeye başlamışlar.Daha sonra da adı Tekirdağ olarak kaldığı söyleniyor. |
