Özgürlük, insanın dışarıdan herhangi bir baskı ,engel ya da karışma olmadan belli bir davranış ya da eylemde buluna bilmesi demektir. Örneğin tiyatroya gitmek, gazete okumak, takım tutmak, bir derneğe üye olmak gibi. Hak kavramı ise özgürlüklerdan daha geniş bir alanı kapsar. Hak insanın bir davranış ya da eylemde bulunabilme, bir davranış ya da eylemden korunma ve bir olanak ya da koşuldan yararlanma yetkisidir. Hatta üç şeyden doğar ; özgürlüklerden, yasaklardan, bir insanın bir olanakdan yararlanma istemesinden. Düşünce özgürlüğü, istenilen dini seçme özgürlüğü, vicdan özgürlüğü, basın özgürlüğü, toplanma ve dernek kurma özgürlüğü, haberleşme özgürlüğü, istenilen şehirde yaşama özgürlükleri gibi özgürlükler yasalarla güvence altına alındığında hak haline gelir, yani kimi haklar özgürlüklerin yasalaşması ile oluşur. Yasak insanın bir eyleme ya da aykırı bir uygulamaya karşı korunmasıdır. Yasaklar da hak doğrur başkalarının özel yaşamına karışmak yasaktır. Herkes özel yaşamına saygı gösterilmesini bekleme hakkına sahiptir. Kimse zorla çalıştırılamaz çünkü angarya ve zorla çalıştırılma yasaı vardır. İşkence yasaktır dolayısıyla kişinin işkence görmeme görürse işkence edenleri dava edebilme hakkı vardır. Haklar bir de yararlanma isteminden doğar. Yararlanma istemi insanın bir olanak ya da koşuldan yararlanmak ya da bunları kullanmayı isteyebilme yetkisidir. Örneğin anneniz iş yerinde kendisi ile aynı işi yapan bir erkek meslekle eşiyle aynı ücret almayı talep edebilir, bu annenizin eşit ve adil ücret olaylarında yararlanma isteyebilir ya da yıl boyunca belli bir süre tatil yapma olanağını kullanmak annenizin hakkıdır üstelik kimse tatilde olduğunuz için annenizin maaşını kesemez.

Freedom means that a person can commit a certain behavior or action without any pressure ,hindrance or interference from the outside. For example, go to the theater, read the newspaper, hire a team, become a member of an association. The concept of rights covers a wider area than freedoms. A right is the right of a person to engage in behavior or action, to protect himself from behavior or action, and to use an opportunity or condition. It even arises from three things: freedoms, prohibitions, a person’s desire to take advantage of an opportunity.
