| Depreşim dalgasının hızı, bulunduğu derinliğin karekökü ile doğru orantılıdır. Derin sularda hızlı, sığ sularda yavaş hareket eder. Ancak rüzgar dalgalarından farklı olarak çok daha uzun periyotlu olurlar ve dalganın altında bulunan su moleküllerinin birbirini iterek yer değiştirmesi ile hareket ederler. Bu itme ve yer değiştirmenin sonucunda su kütlesinde yatay düzlemde sürekli akıntı ve sürekli su tranferi oluşur. |
